Norman’s Law / Emily Hill Junior Race Sat 28th April

Norman’s Law race is a 7km hill race open to anyone born in 2003 or earlier. Emily Junior Race is much shorter (takes about 10-15 mins) and is open to all ages. More information can be found on the Fife AC website

Grangemouth Open Graded Meeting #1 – Weds 2nd May

Entries are now open for the first Grangemouth Open Graded Meeting of the year. All our junior harriers are strongly encouraged to take part in this as it’s a great way of gaining experience and setting officially timed PBs.

Events available are as follows:

U11s – 100m, 150m, Long Jump and Shot Put
U13s – 100m, 150m, 1500m (NOW FULL), Long Jump, Shot Put and Javelin
U15s – 100m, 150m, 300m, 1500m (NOW FULL), Long Jump, Shot Put, Javelin and Pole Vault(!)
U17s – 100m, 150m, 300m, 400m, 1500m (NOW FULL), Long Jump, Shot Put, Javelin and Pole Vault(!)

Maximum of 3 events per athlete!

Online entries are live here: http://online-entries.co.uk/. The 1500m appears to be full now but they are operating a reserve list. Spaces available in all other events. You’ll be asked for your current PBs for the track events. These are used to group athletes into races of similar standard. If in doubt, let me know and I can check our stats or make an estimate for you.

Lomonds Junior Hill Race, Falkland – 6th May

The Scottish Athletics Junior Championship will be at Falkland on Sunday 6th May. The Championship is open to members of Scottish Athletics. The categories are U20 (defined as born 1999–2001), U17 (born 2002-2003), U15 (born 2004-2005), with separate male and female awards. There is also a non-championship race for U13s and U11s.

Registration opens at 10.30am, at the Purin Hill car park (as in previous years), near East Lomond, (car-park is one mile up the hill midway off the Falkland road A912). No entry fee, and a snack and drink will be provided for all runners. The under 13s race starts at midday; all other races at 12.30pm. The courses will be the same as for 2017, with all races starting and finishing near the car park, and ascending East Lomond, with routes varying according to age. The courses are suitable for hill shoes or trainers, but not for spikes. All routes will be marked and marshalled. More info at the Fife AC website
