We had a good turnout for the Ceres 8 road race on August 11. This is yet another Fife AC race, who seem to have races every week. It takes place over quiet country roads in east Fife, and although it's described as undulating, my main memory is two stiff uphill miles at the start and a bit of helter-skelter finish at the end. The end is much more fun than the start.
This year Charlie led the Harriers home with an excellent 48.20 in 7th place overall, and 1st Junior. Patrick wasn't far behind in 48.28 in 9th position and 1st M50, so we had good representation at different ends of the age scales. Ben was next home in 58.29 in 65th position, with Findlay leading the Watson family representation in 1.01.16. Next Watson in was Nic, in 1.06.40, followed by Maddy in 1.07.44. Lauren and Mary put in good efforts over a tough course.
Charlie also put in a bid for fullest plateful of cake and sandwiches at the excellent post-race spread in Ceres Memorial Hall.
