After a hot day with the threat of storms in the evening, weather conditions for the Brig Bash turned out to be well-nigh perfect for this fast flat 5-miler at Bridge of Earn, organised with great efficiency by Perth Road Runners.
Another good evening's work for Wattie and Charlie in the men's race, with a very good 6th position for Wattie, and Charlie getting agonisingly close to the 30 minute mark. Tony's recovery run after the Lairig Ghru race went a bit better and faster than expected, with a fine tussle between him and Andy Gallagher for 3rd and 4th Harrier, and Jim was happy to beat last year's time by a big margin.
Wendy put in a great performance to take 7th in the F40 category, with Rachel racking up useful points in the championship race. Nic was happy to be back racing and Julia and Lauren put in sterling efforts.
For the second week running, Charlie takes the prizes for numbers of cakes on his plate. The after-race food was astoundingly good - sandwiches, sausages, sausage rolls, cakes of every description, fresh strawberries (!), and gluten-free goodies.
PRR also get great credit for the speedy results service, with results sent by email to runners within a couple of hours of the last runner finishing.
