The sixth race in the Harriers Championship series at the Milnathort Dash, organised by Kinross Road Runners. The Dash is a road race run on quiet B roads above Milnathort over a distance of just over five miles. The race was won by Stuart Livingstone of Corstorphine AC in 29.50, with our own Wattie Mackay in second place in 30.21, and David Smith of Wolverhampton and Bilston AC third, in 30.27. Next Harrier home was Patrick in fourth position in 31.00, and with Charlie taking 7th position in 32.06, the Harriers took the team prize for the second year running. Other prizes were won by Patrick (1st M50) and Charlie Grimson (1st Junior, again). Charlie also won an unofficial Harriers prize for most post-race food piled on a paper plate.
For the women, Rachel was first Harrier home in 41.49, with Lauren finishing in 50.42, and Mary in 52.17.
In the men’s championship, Wattie Mackay has a commanding lead with 92.22 points, some way ahead of Andy Gallagher on 69.24 and Charlie Grimson on 61.65. In the women’s championship, Cathy Tilbrook is ahead with 56.59 points, with Lauren Fairweather on 49.01 and Rachel Gallagher on 44.57.
