We went into the final race of the club championship with five of the six podium positions till up for grabs, with only Wattie having secured the men's championship some time ago. All the main contenders apart from Charlie Grimson were running for places, over the now-traditional 5k course on Lady Mary's Walk and Laggan Road.
Despite desperate weather forecasts in the days leading up to the event, the day dawned bright(ish) and only slightly drizzly, although conditions underfoot were damp-to-wet.
At the head of the race, Wattie and Roger battled for supremacy, with Roger taking the honours to finish in 17.49, pipping Wattie by a 2 second margin. Duthac was flying the flag in fine style for the Juniors finishing 3rd in 18.47, with a decent margin over Colin finishing in 4th, in 19.12. Andy Gallagher, running to preserve his place in the top three, finished in 21.45.
First woman home was Wendy, battling for the women's championship, to finish in 21.29. 2nd woman, battling for 3rd place in the women's championship, was Maddy, in 23.05. Cathy was next woman in, in a time of 23.37, with Rachel and Nic coming along in 25.12 and 25.14.
Full race results are here.
So while everyone else was recovering and enjoying the post-race refreshments, I was plugging numbers into the spreadsheet to get the final placings:
|Wattie Mackay||97.58||(10 races)|
|Colin Lamont||77.45||(5 races)|
|Andy Gallagher||76.94||(9 races)|
|Cathy Tilbrook||80.76||(8 races)|
|Wendy Taylor||79.17||(7 races)|
|Rachel Gallagher||71.54||(7 races)|
So, congratulations to Wattie and Cathy - 2015 Strathearn Harriers champions!

Very many thanks to everyone who helped with the final race in less-than-ideal conditions, and to everyone who has run in the championship this year.
