We had a very successful day out at the Scottish National Cross Country Relays at Cumbernauld, with the men's V50 team taking 2nd place in the category - probably the best result the club has achieved in a national competition in its 31 year history.
Massive congratulations to the V50 team of Colin Lamont, Patrick O'Kane and Wattie Mackay, who all ran superbly. Wattie recorded the fastest leg for a V50 in 14.46 and the 9th fastest vet overall.
We also had the youngest ever Harrier’s men’s team, with an average age of 20. Sandy storey ran a fantastic fast first leg in 15.45, with Findlay Watson and Angus Lindsay running the middle legs strongly in 16.43 and 16.32 respectively. Charlie Grimson ran the final leg in 16.01, to bring the team home and secure 64th position.
Unfortunately, the vets team suffered a technical glitch which meant that Andy Greaves’ chip was not registered by the system but we did have recorded times for Jim McConnell (16.19), Paul Taylor (17.10) and Phil Mestecky (17.45).
