Last minute injuries and an argument with a boulder at Comrie Croft led to a number of withdrawals from the Pitlochry 10k, but six Harriers made to trip for the LiveActive 10k race on Sunday in the club championship series. The race is steadily growing in popularity, and this year’s event was enhanced by the presence of Commonwealth and World Championship medallist Eilidh Child, who started the race and awarded the prizes. Eilidh comes from Perth and is a former Perth Grammar teacher, and she was happy to be back on home turf for the event. By all accounts, she was a terrific host and was happy to pose in photos with all and sundry.
First Harrier home was Wattie, in 36.32 (8th overall and 1st MV50), with Colin (4th MV50) and Sandy also breaking the 40 minute mark, with times of 38.33 and 39.12. Wendy was first Harrier lady home in 42.50 (5th woman and 2nd FV40), with Gordon in 46.19 (4th MV60) and Cathy not far behind in 46.34 (5th FV40).
