The Scottish cross-country season finished on Saturday with the National championships at their usual venue at Callendar Park in Falkirk. These championships attracts the very highest calibre athletes in Scotland, with the men's and women's races both being won by Scottish internationals.
The men's race was run by Andrew Butchart of Central AC in a time of 40.02. Wattie led the way for the Harriers, finishing in 157th place and a very good 3rd MV50, in 48.55, with Phil M next Harrier in 57.07, and Gordon in 64.00.
Maddy was running in the women's under-20 race, won by Scottish international Steph Pennycook of Edinburgh AC in 18.16. Maddy finished in 36th position in 23.37.
For the juniors, Fergus Mardon and Ru Flint had a fine tussle in the under-13 boys, with Fergus pipping Ru by seconds, finishing in 15.04, with Ru in 15.07, and James Grant finishing a couple of minutes later in 16.21. In the under-15 boys, Duthac ran well to finish in 16.36
