For the eighth race in the club championship, a small horde of Harriers descended on Milnathort for the popular Milnathort Dash, a 5.2 mile road race on the quiet roads round the west of the town.
The Dash has been a good race for the Harriers in the past, and this year, we had three finishers in the top 20. Wattie Mackay was first in, in 14th position overall and 2nd MV50, in a time of 32.11. Ben Murphy and Aaron Dawson were doing their bit for the younger members of the club, with Ben just pipping Aaron, to finish in 32.40, in 18th position ahead of Aaron (32.46, 19th position).
For the women, Wendy Taylor continued her successful season, finishing in 36.45, 8th woman overall and 2nd FV40. Maddy Watson ran well for her 38.44, ahead of Tara Forster in 39.45.
Much credit goes to Iain Thomson for a fine run after his efforts at the Lairig Ghru at the weekend, finishing in 39.39, 2nd MV60. Also running were Andy Gallagher (37.14), Mark Dillon (38.23), Nicola Watson (40.24), Rachel Gallagher (42.08), Ali Manners (43.52), Julia Greenlees (45.36), Lauren Fairweather (47.09), and Rowan Mestecky (51.31).
Andy Gallagher keeps his place at the top of the men's championship, while Wattie's joker moves him up to 2nd in the championship table, with Ben and Aaron also gain good points to move them up the table. Wendy extends her lead in the women's championship, with Nicola and Tara also moving up the table.
