Five Harriers, across a wide age range, took on the Birnam Hill race, which accounts for one half of Adrian Davis's Highland Boundary Races. Birnam is a short sharp ascent from Birnam, through the woods to the south up the hill, with a bit of a meander across the top of the hill leading to a fast descent, before the flat section beside the railway, which always feel s longer than it should.
Levi Sweeney was first Harrier, in 15th position overall and first in the 16-21 category, in an excellent time of 37.36, with David Alexander and Duthac Mardon having fine tussle for 22nd and 23rd positions, with David just taking the honours in 39.04, just 1 second ahead of Duthac.
Jim Alexander heading the MV50 efforts, finishing in 45.19, with Iain Thomson doing it for the MV60s in 47.45.
The race was won by the speedy Sam Alexander of Westerlands in 31.20.
