Lots of Harriers action at the Great Scottish Run in Glasgow, with club members running in the 10k and the half marathon. Conditions looked soggy, to say the least! I counted at least three Harriers in the TV coverage of the half marathon.
Susan Alexander ran the 10k in a time of 58.08.
In the half marathon, official finishers were:
Jim Alexander 1.34.38
Sonja McFadden 1.37.22
Lauren Fairweather 1.50.37 (new pb)
Janine Grant 2.04.44
Catriona Williams 2.04.46
Graeme Aitken 2.32.16
Anne Hartmann (second claim Harrier) was 12th in the women's race in 1.26.17, and regular Wednesday night training partner Roger Clark was 45th overall in a new pb of 1.14.49)
Against expectations, the race was won by Chris Thomson in a time of 1.02.44, with a convincing lead over pre-race favourite Callum Hawkins and Tsegai Tewelde, who enjoyed a final sprint to the line with both being timed at 1.03.18. The women’s race was won by Flomena Daniel in 1.10.17
