A select group headed to Stirling on Wednesday evening for the Dumyat Hill race, which features a tough ascent and a whole load of fun on the descent. Conditions were confirmed as 'slippy'. Nick Gough was first Harrier in, with a time of 41.19, a 2-minute improvement on last year’s time, which is an excellent effort considering Nick ran the very tough Stuc a’Chroin race just a few days earlier. Mike Thomson was next in with a time of 49.30, not far ahead of Andy Gallagher in 50.03. Lauren Fairweather was our leading woman in a time of 54.45, having a fine race with Lorna Maclarty, who was just 4 seconds back in 54.49, and Keira Reid finished in 1.20.40. Also running, albeit in Strathclyde University colours, was Maddy Watson, with an excellent 48.48. I think Maddy was just outside the top 10 women.
