Tay Ten road race

03 April 2017

While eight Harriers were enjoying a 10 mile jaunt round Strathclyde Park, Jim Alexander made the slightly shorter trip to Perth for the Tay Ten road race along the River Tay. Jim completed the race in a very decent 76.31, in 70th position overall, and 12th MV50.

Tom Scott 10 mile road race

Ben leads the way with a excellent 61.57 at the Tom Scott 10 at Strathclyde Park, with Maddy leading the women in 73.41. Good performances from Tony, Gary, Nic, Lauren, Julia and Andrew B round off a very satisfactory trip.

Deuchary Hill Canter

Not content with racing on Saturday, Iain returned to Dunkeld for the Deuchary Hill Canter round the hills and lochs north of Dunkeld. Iain completed the race in 2.01.12. Hugo completed in 2.08.22.

National Road Relays

Harriers men take 40th position in the National Road Relays in Livingston, with an outstanding final leg from Aaron and fine efforts from Richard, Gary, Ben, and Charlie.

Birnam Hill race

Levi heads the Juniors at the Birnam Hill race, with David A and Duthac racing hard for the other Junior podium places. Jim A and Iain kindly allow the youngsters to lead them home.

Alloa half marathon

20 March 2017

Roger leads the Harriers home at Alloa, with pbs galore, including a massive seven minute improvement for Lauren.

The Mighty Deerstalker

13 March 2017

Dawn Gleeson took on the full-length Mighty Deerstalker race, over 16km of hills and trails, through rivers and assorted obstacles on the Traquair estate in the Borders, finishing in a time of 2.57.13, in 10th position in the FV50 category.

Strathearn Trail Series race 4

Lynne Aitken popped along the road to Methven for the fourth race in the Strathearn Trail Series. The race was 'about 5k', held in the fields around Blue Sky Experiences. From the sound of it, logistics left a bit to be desired, but Lynne came away with a fine 34th position in a time of 28.27.

Gartmorn 6 Trail race

12 March 2017

Maddy and Ben lead the way at Gartmorn, finishing 5th woman and 6th man. Wendy shows that a 20-mile training run on Saturday is no barrier to a sharp 6-miler on Sunday, while for the Juniors, Levi and Duthac lead the field, with Ru completing the Harriers representation in the top 10.

Meadows Half Marathon

For the first of a busy series of half-marathons, Dawn Gleeson ran herself dizzy round and round the Meadows in central Edinburgh. Dawn ran well to finish in 1.59.57, to finish 2nd FV50!
