02 December 2018Tony Wayte had a fine morning out at the 7Rs trail half marathon round seven reservoirs in the Pentland Hills, just south of Edinburgh. Conditions were well nigh perfect for the time of year, and he was happy with his time of 1.42.40, 30th position overall, 6th MV50.
27 November 2018Well done to Cathy, Andy, and Iain battling through the mud of Broxburn. In the men’s race over 8.1k, Andy was first home in 38.15, with Iain following in 44.06. In the women’s race over 5.4k, Cathy finished in 27.40. Not for the first time this season, the seniors were well and truly outnumbered by the juniors
27 November 2018While the rest of us were taking on the cold and wet and mud of Scotland in November, Beth Scholes was a bit further south, taking on the San Sebastian Marathon in northern Spain, finishing in a fine 4.07.59.
20 November 2018Successes for the Under-15s and Under-13s at the Hartley Relays, and a good day out for the seniors.
13 November 2018Kerry Sweeney was our sole senior representative at the National Short Course Cross Country Championships at Lanark, and ran well for her 17.15 on the 4km course. Kerry’s son Sol, running for Glasgow University, but still retaining Harriers second-claim membership, won the men’s championship in a blistering 11.32, while Maddy Watson, also running for her university club but retaining her Harriers membership, ran an excellent 15.34.
13 November 2018Team Grant had a fine outing to the Kelpies Supernova 5k run on Saturday evening. See the Juniors news below for the boys’ results, and well done to Janine for her very good 26.17. In the Friday evening running of the race, Susan Sharp had an excellent 24.51, and Beth Blue did well for her 34.45.
12 November 2018Wattie takes the MV50 prize again at the Jimmy Irvine with an excellent 37.23 to finish in 26th position overall and Lauren scores yet another pb, finishing in 44.40, 13th woman. Tony scores a season's best of 42.16, Gerard beats his target with a good 46.31, and Nic isnt far behind in 48.26, 7th FV50.
04 November 2018A trio of Harriers ran the Glen Ogle 33 ultra on Saturday, in weather which could most kindly be described as dreadful. Many congratulations to Josie Goodfellow, Elaine Moffat and Keira Reid for their efforts. Josie finished in 5.59.14, with Elaine not far behind in 6.04.33, and Keira in 7.44.52.
04 November 2018Roger Goddard (18.56) and Lauren lead the men and women in the club 5k, with strong showings from the juniors, with James finishing 2nd overall. The race confirms Wattie and Lauren as men's and women's champions for 2018.
