National 5k Road Race championships

Wattie's a National Champion, taking 1st MV50 at the National 5k Road Race championships in Edinburgh on Friday May 6. His time of 16.59 is also a new pb.

Hoka Highland Fling

At the Hoka Highland Fling, Iain Thomson was first Harrier in a very good time of 11.56.33. Julia Greenlees and Nicola Watson ran together for the entire race to beat their target time to finish in 12.54.30. Julia was delighted to beat her 2015 time by a massive margin of 90 minutes!

Stuc 'Chroin 5000

Will Manners was the sole Harriers representative at the Stuc a’Chroin 5000 race. In tough conditions, Will finished in a very good 10th position overall, and 2nd MV50, in a time of 2.44.48.

Tiree half marathon

Andy Aitken kicked off his summer of Hebridean half marathons with the Tiree half marathon, completing the race in 1.36.49, to finish in 20th position.

New club marathon record for Wendy Taylor at London

What more can you ask for - new club record, a pb and £1800 for your favoured charity? All in a day's running for Wendy Taylor at the London Marathon. Wendy's new club record is an excellent time of 3.28.44. Husband Paul was hampered over the closing stages with a calf injury, but still finished with an impressive 3.37.31. Gary Brock and Janine Grant ran fine marathon debuts to finish in 3.54.43 and 4.35.06.

Colin flies the flag for the over-70s at Blackpool

Colin Tipping revisited childhood haunts with a slightly different outcome in mind when he made the trip to Blackpool to run the Blackpool marathon. Colin put in a top effort to finish in 5.16.58.

Balmoral 15 mile trail race

24 April 2016

Tony Wayte and Alistair Sexton ran the Balmoral 15 mile trail race, on a scenic course round the Balmoral estate. Tony was first Harrier home in 40th position overall and 3rd MV50 in a time of 1.49.50, with Alistair completing the run in 2.46.57.

Trossachs awayday

17 April 2016

20 or so Harriers plus dogs had a splendid day out in the Trossachs with the awayday run round Loch Venachar and lunch provided by the Brig o'Turk tearooms. Great views along Loch Venachar and beyond to Loch Achray and Loch Drunkie were the rewards for the hard work on the return leg on the north side of the loch.

Club president Gordon Morrison took first MV60 at the Fruehlingslauf 10k in Werl (a small town just east of Dortmund), in a fine time of 45.09, in 16th place overall.

Norman's Law hill race

16 April 2016

Colin Lamont leads the Harriers home at Norman's Law, Mark Dillon heads the Championship table, and Andy Gallagher moved into third place in the championship.
