15 August 2018Andy Aitken ran the inaugural Port Glasgow 10k in slightly damp conditions in a fine time of 41.30 to finish in 24th position.
13 August 2018Four Harriers made the trip to East Fife for the Balmullo trail race. First Harrier home, with a very good effort following his Glen Shee 9 exploits the previous weekend, was Ben Murphy, in 15th position, in a time of 32.52. Next in was Lauren Fairweather in 39.54, ahead of Iain Thomson in 43.32 and Nicola Watson, making a welcome return to racing, in 43.57.

07 August 2018Andy Aitken ran his hometown hill race at the Newtonmore Highland Games, finishing in a time of 38.07 in 29th position. This looks like a fairly brutal event, with a steep climb up the hill behind Newtonmore.
06 August 2018Dawn Gleeson followed a well-worn trail of Harriers making the trip to Mull for the half marathon from Craignure to Salen. Dawn finished in a time of 2:12:50, 6th in her age category.

05 August 2018Ben Murphy and Mike Thomosn ran the Glen Shee 9, one of the toughest races in Scotland, covering 33km with 1800m of ascent and 9 Munros on unforgiving terrain. Ben finished in a very creditable 33rd position in a time of 4.21.31. Mike didn't fare quite so well, suffering a pulled muscle on the descent from Carn Aosda, but then did very well to finish in 5.12.38.
23 July 2018Rhian Evans was back in action at the Big Morvern Run, part of the Lochaline Games, on what looks to have been a very scenic route up and down Loch Aline. Rhian was 3rd overall and 1st woman on the 20kish route, in a time of 1.40.42.
23 July 2018Leeanne Whitelaw made the trip to the biggest onshore windfarm in the UK for the Run the Blades 10k, part of a bigger weekend event comprising a 10k, half marathon and 50k ultra. Leeanne reports a muggy midgy run. Her official time was 1.06.45, somewhat delayed by a faller in front of her, so we’ll take her own recorded time of 58.59 as a proper indication of her efforts.
