On the day
Registration is from 7.30 to 0830 am at Cultybraggan Camp, Comrie
Race start time: 9.00am
Start and finish at Cultybraggan
The route follows predominantly undulating B roads on the south side of Strathearn. Roads will not be closed, and runners are asked to be aware of traffic. The course will be well marshalled and well signposted.
Any runners who have to abandon the race must make their presence known to their nearest marshal, who will arrange any medical help and transport back to the finish.
Entrants should be able to complete a 'flat' marathon in under 5 hours. For a range of practical reasons, the race is organised and resourced to take place within a six hour time frame. That means that after six hours the event is officially closed and any runners still on the course cannot rely on the continuing availability of race officials, marshals, water stations or finishing line facilities. Transport back to the finish will be provided.
UKA / SA rules are that runners should not wear “in ear” headphones in races that take place on roads which are open to traffic, but “bone conduction” earphones are permitted.
There will be seven water points at approximately 3, 7.5, 10.5, 14, 18.5, 21.5 and 24 miles. See the route map for the locations of the water stations.
Finishers will all receive a medal and a goody bag including a technical t-shirt. We will do our best to provide your preferred size of t-shirt but cannot guarantee this.
Prizes will be awarded for:
1st 3 male and female runners
1st 2 male and female Vet 40 runners
1st 2 male and female Vet 50 runners
1st male and female Vet 60 runners
1st 2 male and female local runners
new course records - male and female
Results will be made available on the website as soon as possible after the completion of the race.
