The Auchterarder Chilli Trail race (so named because the route looks likes the outline of a chilli pepper, allegedly), is a popular local race, well-known for its friendly atmosphere and copious amounts of mud. The race covers about 10km, and ventures out from Auchterarder into the foothills of the Ochils, over a variety of terrains, with steady uphills, and exhilarating downhills and even a couple of stream crossings.
Thanks to Clare McClelland for the following race report: a great event, well organised and lots of enthusiastic marshals. The weather was better than I expected and the hills, mud and rivers were plentiful. Tony and I were not beating any PBs but just good to be out running.
Tony was the first Harrier home, in 58:17 for 118th place; Anne McGlashan finished in 1:08:53 for 244th place, and in 307th place was Clare in a time of 1:13:31.
The race was won by Craig Luke in a time of 39.17, and the women's race was won by Craig's sister Kirsty in 46.06.
