Strathearn Harriers - New Year's Day Run 2014

Glen Ogle 33

Race Date: 01 November 2025

The Glen Ogle 33 is the nearest thing we have to a local ultra and has been run by a number of Harriers over the years. The route follows mixed terrain tracks and roads between Killin and Strathyre and has a number of challenging climbs.

Hard to believe, but Josie Goodfellow has done the race a very impressive seven times! Josie gave us this report: My 7th Glen Ogle 33 mile ultra. A tough one, yet again, but I always do it! At least I survived without having a fall in the mud with my road shoes! The rain was on and off, but it was beautiful when the sun shone glowing the autumnal colour at Glen Ogle viaduct! A great event if you're thinking of doing your first ultra. You will meet a bunch of enthusiastic people along the course. 225 runners took part, with 5 DNF. The first male finished in an incredible 3:54 and the first female in 4:52 - very fast for an ultra race. I'm just happy to have finished it in a time of 6:21:32 minutes. Hats off to all the Rocket team crew for being amazing.
