Aberfoyle trail ultra

The pocket dynamo that is Josie Goodfellow had an early start to her Saturday for the Aberfoyle trail ultra. This is a new event on the Scottish ultra calender organised by Outsider Events, and uses the extensive trail network in the Loch Lomond and Trossachs National Park.
Josie sent us this report: Aberfoyle trail running festival organised by Outsider events. 62 k very early 7 am start a lovely trail route big ascent and descent with a bit of technical at mile 22 muddy feet. I was hang on to the fence line so I don't get my feet wet but couldn't avoid it, I [was] dry by time I've finished, mostly run in the forest track,@ mile 26 a short dark run down the forest. was a very lovely day and a feast of foods at every station. Fantastic day over all.
Josie finished in 7.41.55, in 65th position, and 10th woman, out of 88 finishers. The race was won by Richard Goldsworthy in 5.04.49, and the women's race was won by Clare Poulter in 5.34.36.
