The Maddy Moss is a fairly brutal race typical of Ochils race - a steep ascent from Tillicoultry up over The Law to Ben Cleugh, good grassy hilltops across Andrew Gannel Hill, and a fast and furious descent back to Tillicoultry.
From Phil Mestecky: 2 Harriers out at the 10km, 760m Maddy Moss Race. Hot weather at the start but a cooling breeze and some mist on the tops. Just one photo taken by Jon as he waited patiently (for a full 17 mins according to his Strava) for me to finish in approx 1.17 for around 45th place. Jon thinks he was 5th or 6th. Just £5 to enter and free beer at the end! A cracking wee midweek race!
Official results put Jon in 6th position in a time of 1.00.43 (3rd MV40), and Phil in 46th position in a time of 1.17.14. The race was won by Lewis McComb of Central AC in a time of 55.48. There were 89 finishers.
