The second of the clb's own races was the Strathearn Marathon, run on quiet(ish) country roads to the south of Comrie and Crieff, with a start and finish at the historic site of Cultybraggan Camp.
Run this year in excellent conditions, the race was won by Adam Gray of Penicuilk Harriers in a very fast time of 2.36.08. First Harrier, and second overall, was Graeme Warren, continuining his excellent form to finish in 2.53.34. Rory McLaren was third, in a time of 2.55.02. Graeme is the first Harrier to finish in the top three of the race.
First woman was the formidable Janet Dickson of Fife AC. Janet put in a storming run to finish in 7th place overall, in a time of 3.10.37. Second woman was Jorunn Bos in 3.27.47, and the third woman was Heather Darling of Portobello Running Club in 3.28.35.
Prizes for first local men and women went to Graeme Warren and Josie Goodfellow, who finished in 4.34.39.
As always, the race was supported by a small army of volunteers from the club and community, marshalling around the course and providing logistics and admin support back at the race hub at Cultybraggan.
