For the 6th race in the club championship, a small horde of Harriers made the quick trip down to Dunblane for the annual 12k road race on an undulating route on country roads to the north of the town. A team of juniors took on the juniors race with considerable success.
From Graeme Warren: Following the 8 SH juniors, a fine field of 15 Strathearn Harriers took to the blustery start line for the Dunblane 12k, also one of the 2025 Club Champs rounds.
A pre-start deluge saw everyone huddling in doorways, but the clouds parted just in time for the 1pm start and the climb out to Kinbuck.
James Grant set off comfortably with a lead group of 3 and judged his race perfectly over the undulating course to kick in the last km for a fine victory in 41:13.
Behind him there were strong results throughout the field, with 2nd and 3rd places in category: take a bow Calum McBean, Fiona McDonald, Iain Thomson and Dave Torgersen. I claimed a sneaky prize by virtue of the first V40 also being on the overall podium. Despite the breeze a few Harriers smashed their target time, and a notable mention to Mags Gough who was running after a mammoth hockey tournament yesterday!
