8 Harriers made the trip to Strathyre for the Stuc a' Chroinn hill race. This is one of the toughest races in the hill racing calender, covering a distance of about 20k and a total ascent of 1500m. Starting from Strathyre, runners first climb Ben Each, descending into Glen Ample before the main climb up Stuc a’ Chroin, and then down again before the brutal reascent of Ben Each to finish back in Strathyre.
This year's race was the second race in the SHR championship series, so the turnout included many of Scotland's top hill runners (plus a fair scattering of visitors from the south).
First Harrier home was Ralph McInally in 47th position, in an excellent time of 2.23.20 (over 6 minutes faster than last year), followed closely by Jon Turnbull in 51st position (4th M40), in a time of 2.27.15 (10 minutes faster than last year). First (and only) female Harrier was Hanna McInally in 3.01.25, 157th overall and 14th woman.
