Our aim is to put on an enjoyable race across varied terrain in the beautiful Strathearn countryside. Unfortunately Covid-19 restrictions remain in place so we need to make sure that guidance issued by Scottish Athletics is adhered to. This means we need to make you aware of more dos and don’ts than we normally would. We hope that this won’t detract too much from your enjoyment of the event. Please help our marshals by listening carefully to them and complying with any instructions. Detailed Scottish Athletics Event Guidance is available from: https://cutt.ly/XmrP3E2
Firstly and most importantly: DO NOT ATTEND THE EVENT IF YOU ARE EXHIBITING SYMPTOMS OF OR HAVE TESTED POSITIVE FOR COVID-19.
Timing for the race is chip-to-chip. You will have been sent your race number with attached timing chip by post.
Second most important thing: REMEMBER TO BRING YOUR RACE NUMBER WITH ATTACHED TIMING CHIP!
Please arrive no earlier than your scheduled bubble arrival time:
Bubble 1 Race Nos. 1- 100
Arrival and Registration from 10:15
Warm Up 10:45
Bubble 2 Race Nos. 101- 200
Arrival and Registration from 10:45
Warm Up 11:10
To minimise the risk of mixing between bubbles we cannot allow you through to registration prior to these times. Please bear this in mind when planning your journey. In an effort to minimise Covid risk access to the car park will be for competitors only. Please use the public car park opposite for drop off and pick up.
We need you to arrive ready to race; we are unable to provide changing facilities and there will be no bag drop. The toilet facilities are very limited and access to them will be tightly controlled in line with Covid guidance. So we can make full use of the toilet facilities you will be required to wear a mask when entering the building. Reduce the stress on you and our toilet marshal by going to the toilet prior to arrival.
We will be using chip-to-chip timing for the race. To ensure the timing sensors do not get confused between starters and finishers it is essential that we stick rigidly to the scheduled start times. We hope you will understand that this means if you are not at your bubble start on time you may not be permitted to race. No allowance can be made for the toilet queue!
After registration you will to be directed to the bubble assembly/warm up area at least 15 minutes prior to your scheduled start. Outside of the bubble assembly area we would ask you to observe physical distancing.
There is a possibility that outgoing and returning runners may encounter each other along the Laggan Road section of the course. IF YOU SEE RUNNERS APPROACHING YOU PLEASE KEEP RIGHT.
Once across the finishing line you will be directed to a cool down area where you can collect water and a banana from a table. Please do not handle more than one of each item. The cool down area will also be supplied with chairs should you require a rest for a short time. Chairs will be 2m separated and will be sanitised before and after each use. Please leave this area as soon as possible after finishing.
We will expect you to leave the event venue as soon as possible unless you are remaining as a spectator awaiting the return of a runner. Physical distancing should be observed if you do this.
Covid guidelines now allow us to let a limited number of spectators into the event. To allow us to manage the flow of competitors no spectators will be allowed into the start/finish area prior to the departure of the second wave of runners. Spectators must observe physical distancing guidance. Unfortunately this means we cannot allow groups of competitors and spectators to congregate in the facility during or after the event.
Race results will be made available after the event online only. No notices of results will be posted at the race venue. There will be no prize giving at the event and prizes will be delivered to winners afterwards.
We hope this list hasn’t put you off! We very much look forward to welcoming you and hope you enjoy this race through beautiful scenery.
