NB. DUE TO THE COVID 19 PANDEMIC, OUR REGULAR PROGRAMME OF TRAINING SESSIONS AND CLUB RUNS HAS BEEN SUSPENDED. AS SOON AS GOVERNMENT AND SCOTTISH ATHLETICS GUIDELINES ALLOW, WE WILL BE REINTRODUCING OUR TRAINING SCHEDULE TO THE EXTENT WE ARE ABLE TO.
Regular club runs on Monday morning and Friday morning are suitable for runners of all standards.
Monday Meet at Taylor Park at 9.10. These runs are usually run on trails around Crieff.
Friday Meet at the garage in Crieff (opposite the Tower pub) for a 9.00 start. This route loops along to Gilmerton (either along the main road or via the Spoke Road) and up round the Knock.
Thursday evening training sessions are generally structured sessions, based at Morrison's Academy Playing Fields at Dallerie (opposite the Taylor Park car park). The sessions comprise an intervals or reps session, with the emphasis on building stamina and endurance. The structured sessions are a great way to improve fitness, and for runners interested in racing, they help develop pace and technique. The weekly club bulletin gives details for every session. Meet at the all-weather hockey pitches (aka the cage!) at 6.45pm.
Sunday runs alternate between Crieff and Comrie and tend to be more off-road and hillier than the Monday and Friday runs. Details are announced in the weekly club bulletin and on the club Facebook page.
We use achievement standards to help members set targets for themselves and to recognise individual running achievement.
