There's no getting round it, running a marathon is hard work. It takes time, effort and considerable psychological strength to put in the hours of training. To help you, our men's team captain Andy Aitken has prepared a 16 week training programme, which will take you week-by-week from February to race day in June.
Andy's training programme details the kinds of runs you should be doing each week, and also includes strength and conditioning work to do alongside your running. Strength and conditioning work is often overlooked, but can contribute to your overall perfomance and will help prevent injury.
