After last year being my most miserable running experience (too hot, too windy, too hilly, too many excuses), loved today, getting round half an hour quicker than I was hoping for (no idea how!). Rain is clearly my friend! Great event, thanks to all the organisers, marshals and other volunteers. Gregor Davis

I was really worried about those hills, but just got on with it & loved it. The marshals were very friendly and a great support. Also great hospitality at the end. A great wee marathon, with oodles of support from all the volunteers and other runners round the course. Great water stations, marshalling, finish, and... The Squirrel Medal! If you could just bulldoze that hill just off the A822 north of Braco, and the one on the Strowan Road ahead of next year, please ... Jason Miles-Campbell

Fantastic run, beautiful views, (slightly hilly :-) ) wonderful support and great food afterwards. Came from Surrey and was definitely worth the journey. Can definitely recommend this run. Jayne Spencer

Having marshalled at this since it began (except last year) it was my time to run it. Didn't have great day, legs were not complying but I want to thank each and every one of you for the encouragement and support, you've got a great race and its superbly organised and its stunning if brutal route. but hey, I knew that anyway. Thanks to the organisers, registration people, marshals, water station people, bakers and everyone else involved in today's marathon. The organisation was superb, and the marshals were brilliant (especially as they managed to remain super-cheery even after hours of standing in the rain!). I felt like a VIP having my name announced as I approached the finish-line, and the finish area was very efficiently run too. Alison Downey

I love this marathon! Such happy, friendly marshals despite the rain, and I felt like a superstar having my name announced on the finish line. I got hugs from one of the ladies handing out the goody bags because I'd run faster than anticipated and my family weren't there to meet me and the post race spread is awesome.  I would like to thank all the organisers and marshals for another fantastic marathon. The conditions were slightly challenging and I totally appreciate how cold and wet it must have been for all the marshals! You all did an amazing job. It is such a great feeling having so much support on a run - one runner asked if I was a local celebratory as it seemed everyone was shouting my name!! So thank you again. Thank you for a very enjoyable event on Sunday. It was a terrific challenge, not just the course itself, but the weather, too. I just want to say thank you very much to all your marshals and volunteers. They were truly superb, and their enthusiasm, support and encouragement was much appreciated! It was bad enough we had to run in those conditions, so the fact that your team was willing to stand out there getting soaked (and still keep smiling!) was really inspiring. It was great that we could have our own drinks at a couple of the water stations - I've only ever seen that on TV at big events. I am very proud of my squirrel medal.
