Manchester Marathon

Graeme Warren was the club's sole representative at the Manchester Marathon, and he delivered his result in some style. Targeting a PB, he delivered an outstanding run to finish in 2.46.40. This put Graeme in 156th position from a total of 23828 finishers, and 26th M40 finisher.
Graeme's time is the second fastest marathon time recorded by a Harrier, just 4 seconds behid Roger Goddard's 2.46.36 set in London in 2015, and is the second best M40 marathon time in Scotland in 2025.

Whilst Josie was pounding the warm London streets, I was the sole Strathearn Harrier in the slightly cooler Manchester Marathon. A fast, flat course and perfect conditions for the 9am start made for some fast running with great crowds and atmosphere on most of the course.
I finished in 2:46:40 with some pretty solid pacing, taking 6 minutes off of my previous marathon time from 2022. At this rate I’ll be cracking the sub 2hr mark at 65. First though, I’m off to tackle the stairs.
Notable mention to Monica, Benjamin and Harris who walked about 15k plus several packed tram rides to see me an impressive 7 times.
