Berlin Half Marathon

Berlin is the place to be for fast marathons and half marathons, with no fewer than eight marathon world records this century being set at Berlin, and while the half marathon doesn't have the same cachet, it's still a flat course ideal for fast times. It's a very popular race, with 43,563 participants from 134 countries running in 2026.
Not quite in world record shape at the moment, Matthias Schøler Field was our Harrier abroad and put in a decent shift to finish with a chip time of 1.54.32, after taking 25 minutes or so to get over the start line, such were the numbers participating.
The race was won by Andrea Kiptoo in a sprint finish with Dennis Kipkemoi, both of Kenya, with both athletes being given the time of 59.11.
