Strathearn Harriers - New Year's Day Run 2014

National Cross Country Championships

Race Date: 21 February 2026

As ever, Callendar Park in Falkirkwas the venue for the Lindsays National Cross country championships. Thanks to Monica Thomson for this report: A very exciting senior women's race with Laura Muir showing her Olympic pedigree, first over the line on a medium mud 10km course. Not far behind were Strathearn's Monica T and Gill.

Men's team battled the same course, now trampled with extreme mud in situ; Harris P who stormed in for 12th place, then Graeme, Jon T, Mike T and Andy G

The Nationals counted as the seventh race in the intra-club cross-country championships. Standing after these races are here

The men's race was won for the fourth year by Jamie Crowe of Central AC in a time of 30.41, and the women's race was won by Laura Muir, running for Dundee Hawkhill Harriers in 35.00. This was apparently the longest race Laura Muir has even done, and comes 14 years after her last appearance at the Nationals, when she won the U20s event.
