Falkland Yomp
Race Date: 11 January 2026
The Falkland Yomp is a early-season trail race taking a convoluted route round bits of the Falkland Estate. Orgainised by Lomond Hill Runners, it's described as two long steady climbs, and a decisive sharp finishing climb close to the finish, exhilarating descents and a superb mixture of gravel, rooted trail and a forest track.
Thanks to Monica Thomson for the following race report: Falkland Yomp (slither/slide/survival) Several gnarly harriers tackled this year's wintry conditions. Large sections of challenging hard packed ice and slushy slippery paths made things interesting underfoot. Nicola assisted an injured runner, thankfully returning to the finish safe and sound. Ralph was top 6 overall with brother Patrick finishing soon after. Ali C won FV60 prize (and 4th F OVERALL). Kay (5th F overall), Monica T, Anna, Nic, Ian D, Fran L, Julia, Iain T (in no particular order). Highlights included Ralph's delicious cake!

The race was won by Robin Downie of Lochaber AC in a time of 47.08, and the women's race was won by Rhona Van Rensburg of Fife AC in a time of 59.31.
