Trotternish Ridge Race

Race Date: 06 June 2026

The Trotternish Ridge Race is a challenging 27–28 km Category A mountain race on the Isle of Skye, featuring around 2000m of ascent/descent and requiring self-navigation with map and compass between unmanned checkpoints along the dramatic ridge from Flodigary to Storr Lochs. Many thanks to Monica Thomson for the following race report: 5 of us travelled up to Skye for this long classic event. Great weather, friendly hosts and a field of 47 finished fuelled by many jelly babies. Jim Reid was 4th overall (3rd male), Dave Dowse, Mike Thomson, and a joint finish for Gill Dowse and Monica Thomson.

The men's race was won by Kristopher Blake of Westerlands CCC in 3.14.33, and the women's race was won by Catriona Graves, 2nd overall, in 3.15.08.
