The Alloa Half Marathon is one of the most popular season-opening halfs in the Central Belt, and it's a rare year that doesn't see a number of Harriers achieve PBs at the race. This year didn't disappoint. Thanks to Monica Warren for the following race report: 10 Harriers had an early start this morning for the Alloa Half. It was a bit cloudy and chilly at the start but great conditions during and the breeze along the straight from Tillicoultry was welcome. Calum was the first Harrier home in an impressive 1:25 (it may not have been in his preferred hills but we think the fact he was running towards the hills may have helped) and both Ronan and Mags also earned impressive PBs that I’m aware of.
Karen Best commented What a well organised race. Great support all the way. A tad windy between 10 and 12 miles. I was aiming for a sub 2-hours as a marathon training run, so I was very happy to cross the line in 1:45:12.
