The Inverness half marathon is a fast flat early season opener run on roads on the south side of Inverness, and attracts a high quality field, as well as being an ideal race for PBs.
Thanks to Graeme Warren for the following race report: Five Harriers took to the sunny start line in Inverness for the half marathon (also the Scottish Half Marathon Champs). All romped home in excellent times under 2 hours.
Results were as follows:
112nd Graeme Warren 1:19:48
389th Morris Roberts 1:33:01
791st Laura Shaw 1:46:58 (cheered on by 8-month old Lachlan)
1086th Monica Warren 1:53:02 PB
1189th Beth Scholes 1:57:17
Graeme also notes: Special mention to Jim McConnell for making the long trip to Inverness to see us off at the start line too (I think that he squeezed a couple of curling games in while he was in the area).
The race was won by Hamish Hickey of Central AC in a time of 1.05.06, and the women's race was wone by Annabel Simpson of Fife AC in 1.13.47. There were over 2650 finishers.
